Partnership Agreement Between Fill The Gap Africa and Okai Kwei North Municipal Assembly-25th September, 2024.
This was another exciting day for Fill the Gap Africa as we had a contract agreement with OkaiKwei North Municipal Assembly for collaboration to support our project that seeks to address the skills and financial literacy knowledge Gap amongst women in the informal sector. The representation includes; the municipal chief Executive, Hon. Boye Laryea, Mr. Francis Mensah Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Safia Salifu Director of Human Resources, and Ophelia Aryere Development Planning officer.
The Municipal Chief Executive and his team were super excited and emphasized that the Financial Literacy knowledge Gap amongst women should be concerned to every Ghanaian Citizen because women contribute 89% to the nation’s economy. It therefore means that if they are out of the market it has some triple down effect on every individual and government. We agreed on two years contract with the possibility of reaching out to 1000 women, especially in the underserved communities within the municipality.
The team pledged to support the project in many forms and as the best as they could to ensure that women gain financial independence and security. Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly, we are grateful for the partnership, it is our hope and prayer that together we shall make a greater impact.
Finally, the long awaiting time has come. We officially launched our Skilled Development and the Financial Literacy Education project on the 8th of October, 2024 in collaboration with Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly represented by the Chief executive, the coordinating Director, the planning officer’s, Assembly members and our other partners who came in their numbers to grace the occasion. It was indeed a memorable day full of joy.
We got two new companies who were overwhelmed with the greater representation of the women that day and the enthusiasm towards the project and decided that they will partner with us to reach more women. We will soon officially announce them here. We had an overflow of numbers. We were expecting 100 women but before we say jack the whole place was packed with more than 155 women. This was unbelievable. We thank all our partners especially the Municipal Chief Executive of Okaikwei North, who sacrificed out of his busy schedules to be our guest speaker. We joined hands with all our partners to declare the the project launch. They all promised to give us all the necessary support we need to run the project successfully.
