Dansoman Community Market Stakeholder Engagement Meeting, Ablekuma West Municipal, Ghana.

On the 19th of April, 2024. at 1 pm l had a stakeholder engagement meeting with the Dansoma Community Market management team in their office. The visit was to gather baseline information about the women’s performance in the market concerning their knowledge level in financial literacy education. According to the management records, there is a lack of financial literacy knowledge gap that has resulted in bad business decisions amongst Dansoma market Women in the Ablekuma West Municipal Accra. This has caused about  400 as compared to 500  Women to be indebted to financial institutions,  about 50 shops are closed down, 10 are on the ran, Children’s education is affected, and broken marriageslead to depression and suicide attempts.

Our ambition is to educate 400 Women aged 20-50 years in the Dansoma community market, through financial literacy education using village savings and loans and investment models for business resilience and financial security by mid-June 2024 and beyond on a need-based.

They however have hope and are excited that our project will help to fill the financial literacy knowledge gap amongst their market women for business resilience and financial security. They added that this issue has affected the level of revenue received from the market by the local Government hence development is affected. Looking forward to meeting some of the loan victims to talk to soon.
